If you have a workplace where there is a slurry plant, you are particularly obliged to warn as well as inform about the various dangers associated with the slurry tank in question. The sign is produced in plastic and then coated with a bright yellow colour, which attracts massive attention from passers-by. The sign is adorned with an extremely long text and a small black exclamation mark in the upper right corner, which is used as an eye-catcher together with the heading, which reads as follows: "Warning - Slurry plant".

2.1
In connection with slurry plants, the following signs must be present: At all descent openings for slurry containers and pump wells, etc., warning signs about the danger of poisoning must be erected, cf. appendix. In the case of descent openings for slurry containers, pump wells, etc., notices about the danger of poisoning and about first aid in cases of poisoning must be conspicuously posted in those places, cf. Appendix. Warning signs about the risk of fire must be erected at pumping stations, cf. appendix.

2.2
There must be signs on slurry tankers that warn against the danger of poisoning from the slurry gas and prohibit staying on the tank during filling, cf. appendix. The signs must be placed on the front bottom of the slurry tanker or by any ladder and in a place where the signs are not contaminated by manure.

The signs must be clear and made of weatherproof materials.
If you have a slurry plant at your workplace, you are also obliged to warn and inform about the dangers associated with it. Here, a slurry tank sign will be of great help and informs both employees and outsiders.

Warning - Slurry plant
In this barn there is a manure plant. During fermentation in the slurry, various health, fire and explosive gases are formed, among these the deadly hydrogen sulphide, which is released when the slurry is moved, stirred or pumped.
Sulfur printe is a very dangerous poison for humans and animals.
By stirring and pumping in the slurry, within 1-2 min. deadly amounts of hydrogen sulphide are released. In these high concentrations, hydrogen sulfide can completely paralyze the sense of smell, so that one does not become aware of the danger until it is too late. Lack of evidence can occur suddenly. The risk of release of fertilizer gases is greatest in stables where large quantities of fertilizer are stored for a long time. For long-term storage, the only safe method to avoid death is to empty the stable of people and animals, if stirring or pumping is carried out.

If there are animals in the barn and poisoning occurs, pumping and stirring must be stopped immediately and the doors opened from the outside. You must not enter the barn yourself, but must call in specially trained personnel with air-supplied breathing apparatus of the type compressed air and circulation apparatus.

Treatment of poisoning - always call 112.
The poisoned must be taken to fresh air and the ambulance must be called. Resuscitation should be started immediately. Inhalation of pure oxygen must be initiated as soon as possible. Even if an unconscious person wakes up and claims to be fine, an ambulance must be called.

When raising an alarm, attention must be drawn to the fact that it is an accident at a slurry plant.
