Hellberg Local 446 communication hearing protection

Local is a headset and hearing protection with a built-in communication radio that allows for two-way communication in a local workplace.

The wireless headset to headset connection is ideal for short messages, increasing efficiency and safety in the workplace. Local does not require external devices, such as mobile radios or mobile phones, to establish a communication link, making it the perfect solution when constant clear communication is needed to get the job done.
In addition, Local has good noise reduction properties, a noise-reducing boom microphone that ensures clear speech, and microphones for active listening, so you always know what's going on around you.
The headband and helmet fittings have a robust and non-conductive construction and, together with the soft replaceable cushions, ensure that the hearing protectors sit well and comfortably throughout the day.

The attenuation value:

The SNR value: 30 dB, which is an average of the attenuation in dB.
- The damping value for high-frequency sounds, e.g. the squeal, is 32 dB.
- The attenuation value for medium-frequency sounds is 28 dB.
- The attenuation value for low-frequency sounds, such as hum, is 22 dB.

Maintenance:

A hygiene kit is available for the hearing protection. To maintain a high level of hygiene and to ensure that the hearing protection works as intended and provides it
optimal noise reduction, it is important that the ear cups close tightly. It is therefore recommended to replace the sealing rings (hygiene set) twice a year.

Choose the right hearing protection!

The ear should preferably not be exposed to a noise level of more than 75 - 80 dB.
It is therefore not important to choose a hearing protector that can reduce the noise to an acceptable level.
You can calculate yourself whether the hearing protection is sufficient using a very simple calculation.
First, however, you must know the dB you are in.
There are countless apps that you can download for your phone, and thereby approx. measure the noise level you are in.

Below you can see an example of a calculation:

Noise level in dB: 104 dB
The hearing protector's SNR value: - 26 dB
Noise to which the ear is exposed: = 78 dB

The most optimal SNR value for a noise level of 104 dB is therefore 24-29 dB.
