The gas filters consist of activated carbon, which has a very large surface. Each gram of activated carbon has an impressive surface area of 1200 m2, which ensures efficient adsorption of the gases without any significant change in breathing resistance. The gas filter has a certain capacity depending on the amount of carbon contained in the filter (class 1, 2 or 3).
It is important to note that the service life of the gas filter can vary depending on the concentration of pollution, the air demand of the user and the capacity of the filter. It is recommended to calculate the usage time based on these factors, but it should be noted that the calculation can be uncertain due to the many variables involved.

Gas filter SR 297 class 1 is intended for use with Sundström half and full masks.
The filter is of the ABEK type and protects against the following types of gases and vapours:
Type A protects against organic gases and vapors, such as solvents with a boiling point above +65 °C.
Type B protects against inorganic gases and vapors, such as chlorine, hydrogen sulphide and hydrogen cyanide.
Type E protects against acid gases and vapors, such as sulfur dioxide and hydrogen fluoride.
Type K protects against ammonia and certain amines, such as ethylenediamine.
The gas filter can easily be combined with the particle filter SR 510 P3 R to also achieve protection against aerosols (particles), e.g. in connection with spray painting.
